Bromham Viaduct Steel Fabrication Project

After completing a number of successful contracts for AMCO Rail, Carver was extremely pleased to secure this project. Located on the outskirts of Bedford the 19th Century Structure required steel refurbishment and improvements to increase the height of the overhead beams to enable OLE enhancements. The bridge spans the river Great Ouse and has 4no. Live railway lines.

The project comprised of the removal of existing steelwork and to replace with new Steel Fabricated Haunches and Overhead Beams.

Our services included Rivet Busting, Drilling, Site Surveys, Steel Fabrication, Painting and Site Installation. Given the limited access available, our experienced site steel fabrication team were able to successfully dissect the existing steelwork and remove whilst keeping the structural integrity of bridge. Works were completed during in possession working hours in adverse weather conditions in order to meet the client's schedule.
