Position Overview
Carver Engineering Services Ltd are looking for a Production Manager to manage the production team/workforce and to ensure that works are planned and undertaken efficiently ensuring client satisfaction and compliance to legislation. The business is well known for projects in the Railway, Highways and Construction Industry, working alongside various Tier 1 Contractors.
Main duties include planning, organizing, directing, and controlling production activities. Other major responsibilities include scheduling production, quality, inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods, and process improvements.
Requirements
At least 10 years of Engineering & Fabrication and associated expertise and experience at contract and technical management level with significant exposure to people and site management issues including the rail environment.
Knowledge of ISO Management systems and Auditing procedures.

- Full Driver’s Licence
- Recognised Health and Safety Qualification
Key Accountabilities
- Oversee the production process from start to finish.
- Develop and implement plans to meet production goals and deadlines.
- Manage a team of production supervisors and workers.
- Schedule and coordinate production activities to ensure maximum efficiency.
- Identify and resolve production-related problems promptly.
- Ensure the quality of the finished product meets customer expectations.
- Monitor inventory levels and order materials as needed.
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of production data and costs.
- Develop innovating ways to undertake Fabrication and Engineering Works using new equipment and flexible methods between engineering disciplines whilst maintain a high level of safety within the business undertakings.
- To reinforce safe working practices in all areas and is an ardent champion of safety.
- To promote the professional development of employees.
- To investigate and report on incidents and implement loss prevention measures.
- To ensure standards of technical competence are maintained
- Assisting in the identification of new competency requirements as a requirement of new standards or legislation,
- To ensure effective communications at all levels.
- Monitor and review employee performance at regular intervals.
Monday to Thursday 6am-2:30pm & Friday 6am-1pm
39 hour week with overtime available
24 days annual leave + bank holidays
