Carver Wrapped! Our Big 2024 Roundup

Date 11 Dec 2024

As 2024 draws to a close, the Carver team has been reflecting on the past year. We’ve remained dedicated to providing exceptional steel fabrication services, delivering safe, efficient, and impactful projects that truly make a difference for our clients.

And there’s plenty more where that came from in the new year.

We’d like to showcase our 12 most remarkable accomplishments made possible by your collaboration and our talented team in 2024, as well as give you a sneak peek at what’s in store for Carver in 2025…

We won 25+ projects

Since the beginning of 2024, we’ve secured over 25 new projects, spanning a wide range of sectors and challenges.

…and completed 20 of them!

This year, we successfully delivered over 20 projects. Some started in 2023 and concluded in 2024, while others were completed within the year. For a comprehensive look at our work, visit our Projects page.

We went above and beyond for clients in more than 5 diverse sectors in the UK, and beyond

From rail and highway fabrication to marine-grade constructions, we leveraged our expertise to deliver critical infrastructure, helping clients achieve their goals.

In the process, we handled over 1,500 tonnes of steel!

That’s equivalent to…

  • 11 statues of liberty
  • 14.5 blue whales
  • 150 cruise ship anchors

We bridged the gap by fabricating over 380 metres of footbridges and walkways

To put that into perspective, here’s what that equates to:

  • The height of the Empire State Building
  • Just over the width of the Niagara Falls
  • Five Boeing 747s parked nose-to-tail
  • The length of 38 double decker buses

We spent thousands of hours delivering on-site labour

Our team of skilled professionals did what they do best to ensure every project was delivered with excellence, contributing thousands of hours of on-site labour throughout the year.

We’ve worked on some award-worthy projects

This year, we contributed to some incredible projects that received notable recognition:

  • Winning the ‘Historic Bridge Project of the Year’ at the NCE Bridges Awards, highlighting our precision engineering and innovation.
  • We’re especially proud of our work on Brent Cross West station, which won the New London Award for Transport and Infrastructure. While the award wasn’t ours directly, our significant steelwork contributions were crucial to the project’s success.

We upskilled our team

We continued to invest in our most valuable asset: our people. By achieving Cyber Essentials certifications and supporting various training and development programs, we remain committed to enhancing the skills of our workforce

We invested in the latest tech

  • We’ve elevated our large-scale manufacturing capabilities by integrating drones into our operations, providing a bird’s-eye view of projects and ensuring fast and efficient processes.Drone view of the fabricated parts for our St Erth project leaving Carver's facility
  • Our fleet got an eco-upgrade with the addition of electric forklift trucks, advancing our commitment to sustainable practices.

And on that note…

We’ve recycled 2.272 tonnes of paper and plastic waste

As part of our commitment to reducing environmental impact, we prioritised waste recycling, achieving this impressive milestone. Additionally, we implemented sustainable practices across all operations to further minimise our ecological footprint.

We passed 8 audits with flying colours

We undergo continuous audits to ensure quality and safety across all our operations. From ISO to RISQS certifications, we are dedicated to maintaining the highest standards. Additionally, we implement rigorous internal checks to uphold our commitment to excellence.

We got a brand new look

Notice anything different? In September, we launched our redesigned website, thanks to the fantastic team at Bubble Design! The refreshed platform has boosted our online presence and provides the perfect space to showcase our projects and capabilities.

While you’re here, why not take a look around?
