Celebrating Carver Engineering’s Accreditations in 2025

Date 30 Oct 2025

As experts in steel fabrication and solution providers for complex engineering projects, we at Carver Engineering understand the significance and crucial need for quality. We set ourselves only the highest standards with a dedication to uphold them while assuring exemplary, timely projects.

In 2025, we’ve proudly sustained many of our accreditations after successfully passing a number of audits throughout the year. This has showcased our continued commitment to our mission of delivering only the highest standards in our industry.

Let’s explore which accreditations we have held this year and what they mean for the work we do.

ISO 9001 – Quality Management Systems

2025 marks the 31st consecutive year that we have upheld our ISO 9001 accreditation. This milestone highlights our dedication to better quality, cost efficiency, and building stronger customer trust as a leading fabrication company. It is a testament to how Carver continues to follow customer and regulation requirements when delivering our products and services.

RQSC Bridgeworks

Established with the Highways Agency in 2001 specifically for steelwork contractors in the fabrication and erection of bridge structures, upholding this accreditation underscores Carver Engineering position as a leading fabricator for bridgeworks, such as plate girder and truss bridges.

Maintaining this excellent accreditation demonstrates our unwavering capability, expertise, and competence to deliver such projects across various sectors. Our main fabrication workshop, which is 37m long and equipped with two 30-tonne overhead cranes, is perfectly suited to deliver this type of large-scale, heavy-duty construction.

SCCS NHSS – Quality Management in Highway Works

This standard, introduced by Highways England, defines the additional quality requirements for a company’s QMS in the execution of steelwork projects for transportation infrastructure, such as bridges.

Maintaining this standard shows our dedication and competency in these complex projects, and ensures that every Carver highway project is delivered with proven quality management and a consistent commitment to meeting national regulatory requirements.

RISQS Qualification

Completion of this mandatory accreditation officially qualifies Carver to undertake work in the rail industry, especially for major clients such as Network Rail and Transport for London.

Obtaining the RISQS qualification confirms that we have the systems, processes and competency to produce safety-critical fabrications for railway environments. This further demonstrates that we meet the rigorous safety, quality, and performance criteria that is critical for the rail sector.

ISO 14001 – Environmental Management Systems

Holding this standard ensures that we can effectively monitor and manage key environmental aspects in our business, such as waste, energy use, emissions, and resource efficiency. This certification helps us to work cleaner, safer, and more sustainably, while also improving our efficiency and credibility.

ISO 45001 – Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems

For a steel fabrication company undertaking complex and large-scale projects, health and safety is of utmost importance. This accreditation helps us to protect our workers by managing risks, reducing accidents and creating a culture of continuous safety improvement, all while maintaining efficient operations and staying industry compliant.

ISO 3834 – Quality Requirements for Fusion Welding

This accreditation details the quality requirements for the fusion welding of metallic materials. As a leading fabrication company, achieving this certification assures that our welding is done to international best practices, reducing production risks and guaranteeing the reliability and superior quality of our welds in every structural component we deliver.

BS EN 1090 – Construction Products Regulation

The BS EN 1090 certification is a legal requirement for load-bearing steel and aluminium structures. Upholding this accreditation allows us to supply safe and legal structural components marked with UKCA and CE+UKNI certification. This further confirms our capability and commitment to maintain necessary high-quality welding and fabrication standards.

SSIP – Safety Schemes in Procurement

Holding an SSIP certification assures that we are meeting a consistently high health and safety standard within our workforce, and provides a mutual recognition with other SSIP members.

Looking forward with certified quality

Achieving and maintaining these crucial accreditations after passing multiple audits throughout the year successfully highlights our continued commitment to achieving engineering excellence. As we prepare for 2026 with these accreditations under our belt, we are more confident than ever in the work we do as we continue to meet the highest possible standards for safety, quality, and capabilities.

A huge thank you goes to the entire team involved at Carver Engineering. It is your dedication that allows us to not only meet and maintain these high industry standards, but continuously excel.
