Position Overview
We are currently seeking an NDT and Welding Inspector to join our busy Steelwork Inspection Department. The role is based near Doncaster but could involve some travel to suppliers
Work will predominantly involve steel structures but will occasionally cover other aspects of steelwork.
Responsibilities
- Visual examination of fabrications and steel surfaces
- Dimensional Inspection/Verification
- Carry out NDE as required – Following training
- Identify & record nonconforming products & oversee resolution as required
- Generate and maintain inspection documentation as necessary
- Ensure Inspection test plan is followed
- First off to final release inspection
- Inspection visits to sub suppliers
- Assist with customer visits
- Calibration / verification of equipment
- Maintaining welding parameters and welding stores
Requirements
Essential
- Ability to read engineering drawings, specification etc.
- Ability to use measuring equipment – Tape measures etc.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office
- Ability to plan own workload
- Experience with QC of structural fabrications during all aspects of production.
- Familiar with ISO 9001
- Driving licence recognised in the UK
- Good understanding of maths
- Good communicator
Desirable
- PCN/CSWIP Visual qualification
- PCN/CSWIP MT qualification
- Icorr or equivalent painting qualification
- Experience with painted structures
Working Conditions
- The role involves working in an industrial setting, which may include exposure to loud noise, dust, and varying weather conditions.
- Physical stamina is essential as the role involves manual labor and extended periods of standing.
£18.28 p/h
Monday to Thursday 6am-2:30pm & Friday 6am-1pm
39 hour week with overtime available
24 days annual leave
